soo, this gorgeous girl up here is taylor filorimo. a close friend to a lot of people and she means a lot to us.

please read this.

taylor was in illinois with her softball team playing in the ASA nationals in the summer of 2009. her team posted an excellent performance as well as taylor having one of her best hitting showcases to date. her team battled hard and came out on top as national champions. afterward, the team headed to red lobster for a victory dinner and shortly after is when taylor’s life would be forever changed. following dinner, she started to feel ill. her father was with her in illinois and figured she had gotten a bad case of food poisoning. she continued to feel sick when they had finally arrived back home and consequently started running a fever of 100.6. the next morning came and she was still sick. her parents then decided to take her to the doctor. the doctor was suspicious that it was her appendix. he started pressing around her abdomen and there didn’t seem to be any pain around that area, but rather higher underneath her ribcage. a blood test was run and her white cell count came back extremely high. the doctor ordered them to get two scans done on her appendix. after waiting for the results, taylor and her mother were called into the doctor’s office. he looked at them and told them she had a form of cancer. the doctor then told them to head home quickly, pack, and go straight to the children’s hospital. when they got there they met with taylor’s oncologist. he told them that she had a tumor the size of a softball on her right kidney and the kidney had to go. she would be going in for surgery in a couple days to remove the tumor. during the surgery the doctors saw that the tumor had attached itself to her liver and was actually the size of two softballs. after the surgery, taylor was officially diagnosed with renal cell carcinoma which is a type of kidney cancer. this type of cancer is typically found in 50+ year olds, and taylor is the youngest person in the world to be diagnosed with RCC. 

taylor stated, “i have had two surgeries, one to remove my right kidney and a little bit of my liver. then in december (2009), 5% of my lung along with three tumors were removed. now, i have seven tumors in my right lung and two in my left.” 

taylor is one of the strongest people i know. she’s 15 years old, and still battling this. lately things have not been going well, and right now she needs as many prayers as she can get. all i’m asking is if you just reblog this, and pass it on, so everyone can #pray4tay and hope for the best for her recovery.
